The WorryFree® Barberry Collection features two non-invasive barberry varieties, with two additional plants to be introduced in 2023. While most Japanese barberry can be invasive, the WorryFree® barberries bred at the University of Connecticut are non-invasive, providing you with an attractive and well-performing landscape plant that is deer resistant and now without the invasive risk.
The WorryFree® Grasses Collection features two non-invasive Miscanthus. Miscanthus has been one of the most popular groups of ornamental grasses in the American landscape, but the genus has been an invasive plant issue throughout a good portion of the U.S. Now, there are two sterile Miscanthus, offering a winning solution in terms of form, color, and reliability without the invasive risk.

SynRG, LLC collaborates with plant breeders from around the world and independent garden center retailers in the United States and Canada to test and evaluate new plants, including non-invasive barberry and ornamental grasses. The goal is to award only the best tested and most trusted new plants the Handpicked for You® trustmark. This is not just a new branding program; it is a certification program that buyers can depend on. The Handpicked for You® trustmark helps consumers make smart choices, ensuring that each item identified with the trustmark, such as WorryFree plants, has been rigorously tested and locally scrutinized, only making the final cut when the plant variety has proven its performance.
